1. Download Samsung Droid Charge Root zip file and unzip it on your desktop. Copy the unzipped contents to the ADB “Tools” folder in your computer.

3. Enable USB Debugging Mode on Droid Charge (from Settings –> Applications –> Development –> USB Debugging).

4. Now run the following commands at the Command Prompt.

adb push GingerBreak /data/local/
adb push su /data/local/
adb push Superuser.apk /data/local/
adb shell

5. Wait for the $ prompt and when it appears type:

/data/local/GingerBreak

6. Let the GingerBreak exploit be flashed onto your device. When the prompt turns to #, type in the following commands one after the other to turn the temporary root into a permanent one.

mount -o remount,rw -t rfs /dev/block/stl10 /system
cat /data/local/su > /system/xbin/su
cat /data/local/Superuser.apk > /system/xbin/Superuser.apk
chown 0:0 /system/xbin/su
chmod 6755 /system/xbin/su
reboot

7. Let your Samsung Droid Charge reboot. You will then have a rooted phone with Superuser app installed on it.
